Message from Principal

Dr. V Rama Krishna,
             My greetings to all on behalf of Lingayas Institute of Management and Technology (LIMAT), Vijayawada, a sister concern of Lingayas Group of Institutions. The LIMAT was established in 2008-09 with a singular objective and mission to facilitate and promote Studies and Research with a focus on Professional Higher Education in Engineering, Technology and Management. The LIMAT is affiliated to JNTU-Kakinada and is approved by AICTE- New Delhi. Today, LIMAT offers B Tech programme in ECE, EEE, CSE, IT & Civil branches of Engineering and PG programme in MBA.

             The need of the hour in today’s educational sector is improving the employability skills of the students as desired by the industry. It appears easier to say than done. The modern day student needs to learn several aspects such as communication skills, soft skills, team work, leadership qualities, presentation skills, innovative ideas, practical approach etc., than mere subject knowledge to succeed at higher and varied levels. Another significant aspect that is clearly noticeable is the growing importance of inter-disciplinary aspects of study. Not so long ago, the student has many limitations to expand his career into the domain areas of other faculties. But now, these boundaries are vanishing and prospects are distinctly growing in the inter-disciplinary subjects and their related specializations. Assessment of student’s ability is also becoming a debatable issue across the country. Majority of the University examination processes are focused on results of one/two time examinations but not continuously paced which is highly essential for engineering studies. To keep-up the pace in the current day scenario, the faculty members also have to gear themselves up to keep themselves updated with technological advancements and new approaches of teaching-learning process.

              To bridge these gaps, it is highly essential to take a deviation in the educational process and teaching-learning system. Providing hands-on-training at all engineering trades to all the students in their first year of study covering the day-to-day aspects of daily life; imparting the employability skills through special training; encouraging creative talent by introducing academic projects beyond university curriculum to develop confidence among the students; promoting regular industrial visits to understand the several activities and responsibilities at the industry; encouraging internships at the industry to the students to work on real life assignments; classroom teaching using audio-visual aids and e-learning material; developing different centres of research development to motivate the faculty members to update themselves in terms of technological advances and using the same in class room teaching etc., to name a few are some of the solutions.

             Consistent with the high standard of excellence aimed at by the Group, the faculty at LIMAT comprises of a team comprising of well qualified people with a proven record of meritorious accomplishments to their credit. Besides regular class work, several innovative practices were introduced to the students. The faculty members were also encouraged for their advanced studies, research and creative ideas besides improving their teaching skills through participation in Faculty Development programmers.

             The LIMAT is very glad to be a part of Lingayas Group of Institutions to uphold the highest standard of traditions set up by the Group.
